Vanier College Kickoff

I have volunteered, along with eight other members of the robotics team, to go to Vanier College for the official Actimania 2015 kickoff! Haviv, Elvi, Stephen, and Michael, our mentors accompanied us to the meeting. Each one of us had a different job to do when we got there: measuring, taking photos, planning, and in my case, journalism.

Once at the college, we entered a small, albeit impressive auditorium, filled with our competitors from other schools. The whole place seemed animated, and the excitement was almost tangible in the air.

After a few minutes, the crowd quieted down: it was time for the presentation to begin! Somewhat nervous, I watched intently as an announcer got on the stage and introduced those in charge of this event. He then proceeded to explain the rules of the game in detail, while showing off the arena. After an exceptionally long question and answer session, they let the teams go on the playing field.

When the time came to pick numbers out of a hat for the team, Bialik got #2! I'm sure it'll be a good omen when it comes to the competition.

Une fois au collège, nous sommes entrés dans une auditorium impressionnante, pleine de nos concurrents des autres écoles. L'endroit semblait animé, et l'excitation était presque palpable dans l'air. Après quelques minutes, la foule se calme: il était temps pour la présentation à commencer! Un peu nerveux, j'ai regardé attentivement comme l'annonceur arrive sur la scène et introduit les responsables de cet événement. Il a ensuite expliqué les règles du jeu en détail, tout en montrant l'arène. Après une très longue séance de questions et réponses, ils ont laissé les équipes traversent sur ​​le terrain de jeu. Lorsque vient le moment de choisir les numéros d'un chapeau pour l'équipe, Bialik a # 2! Je suis sûr que ça va être un bon présage quand il s'agit à la concurrence.
